This introductory Core French course is for students who have little or no background in French or who have not completed the usual elementary Core French program. Students build basic listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills, use learning strategies, and explore French-speaking communities and cultures.

This course provides opportunities to communicate and interact in French with increasing independence in a variety of everyday contexts. Students strengthen listening, speaking, reading, and writing, use creative and critical thinking, and deepen their understanding of diverse French-speaking communities.
Prerequisite: Core French, Grade 9, Academic or Applied
