
This course explores foods and food practices from around the world. Students investigate flavours, ingredients, cooking techniques, etiquette, cultural traditions, and the origins and development of world cuisines while building practical food-preparation skills and applying social science research methods.

This course uses anthropology, psychology, and sociology to examine social change, social trends, and social challenges in Canada and around the world. Students analyze how and why knowledge, attitudes, beliefs, and behaviours shift over time and apply social science research methods to investigate change.
Prerequisite: Any university or university/college preparation course in social sciences and humanities, English, or Canadian and world studies

This course studies human development throughout the life cycle using a multidisciplinary approach. Students examine early brain and childhood development, links to lifelong learning, health, and well-being, and practical applications related to child care, human relationships, and supporting development.
Prerequisite: Any Grade 11 or 12 university or university/college preparation course in social sciences and humanities, English, or Canadian and world studies

This course examines relationships among food, energy balance, nutritional status, health, and disease. Students study nutritional needs across the life span, evaluate nutrition trends, investigate food security and environmental responsibility, practise food-preparation skills, and apply social science research methods to nutrition issues.
